The Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) Secretariat held a press conference in Beijing on the 16th, announcing that the 2019 Annual Conference of the Boao Forum for Asia will be held in Boao, Hainan from March 26 to March 29, with the theme of "Shared Destiny, Shared Action, Shared Development".
The 2019 Annual Conference of the Boao Forum for Asia plans to hold around 50 formal discussions, including the opening ceremony, sub-forums, CEO dialogues, and roundtable meetings. The specific topics are planned in five sections: open world economy, multilateralism, regional cooperation, global governance, innovation-driven development, high-quality development, and hot topics.
Li Baodong, Secretary General of the Boao Forum for Asia, said that the world economy experienced moderate growth in 2018, but the momentum slowed. The growth trends and monetary policies of major economies showed significant divergence, international capital flows and financial and energy markets experienced increased volatility, the multilateral trading system suffered severe shocks, and global structural reform issues became prominent. At the same time, competition among major powers intensified, international hot issues heated up, and the instability and uncertainty in the international situation increased significantly. The Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference aims to build an open and inclusive discussion platform for participants and to send a clear message to the world in order to build a global governance consensus.
